Default perfect focus lenses
I was reading in a science mag that they are working on something that will make movies be in perfect focus so that both the foreground and background are in crystal sharp focus at the same time.

Maybe they were using metamaterials ... don't remember for sure ... but it's not even in the prototype stage yet. Hopefully, a breakthrough will come in our life time and WOW us away at the theater and home cinema.
