The store I bought my speakers from has had other customers with similar issues on Dennon DVD players. But never with the receivers.

I have the DVD-1920 and a silver clone, the DVD-756 among my fleet of inexpensive SACD/DVD-A players. I have never had a problem with mine and believe overall, the DVD-1920 is better than most other inexpensive universal players. I do like the Oppo DV-980H better, but I would have to wait a few years to tell you which one was ultimately better. I really like SACD and DVD-A and play those formats often. I had expected inexpensive universal players to go the way of the dodo bird, but to my surprise, Denon, Yamaha and Oppo continue to offer models.
