Is this the same when it comes to the Japanese version or just the English dub because if it’s only the dub that aged poorly then this might be a treat.

Wait, whaaaaa? I though one of the VA's said they didn't have any recordings and that the master elements were long gone?

Same opinion on either version.

Hey, just two things for me — Digimon and the Uzumaki live action.

The only thing more powerful than FOMO is nostalgia for me. I’m still not 100% on Mon Colle Knights. Hope everyone got something out of this.

That was a mega Discotek stream indeed. While Devilman wasn't high on my wish list, it was there, so that's more than I expected. Usually there's up to 2-3 announcements I want, but this time, woof.
Bolded titles are the ones I'm most excited for, but I plan to buy all of these.
-Astro Boy
-Cyber City Odeo 808 SteelBook
-Double Dragon
-Devilman
-Violence Jack (God help me)
-Darkstalkers
-Uzumaki
-Project A-ko 2
-Sasuraiger
-Dorvak

My bank account: KO'd. I might have to skip pre-orders for some of these and wait for a sale just to give my wallet a break.

As huge as the Digimon announcement is, it's just not for me, strangely enough.

Discotek, you are amazing.

I wonder if Discotek will re-release Crying Freeman on Blu-ray?

Cyber City Steelbook, Violence Jack, Darkstalkers, Case Closed, Kekkaishi and Digimon for me. I've never been the biggest Digimon fan but I'll pick it up and give it a go. One of the few early 2000s kid anime that I didn't grow up with.

Bummer they probably aren't able to include uncut Spanish Shaman king and digimon dubs on their sub sets. :/. Ask them of the Digimon movies for Blu ray are possible haha

Lot of these are titles I haven’t watched yet, but I plan to buy the Cyber City Oedo Steelbook. Most of the others I’ll have to watch eventually (there are a few which I watched but am not interested in picking up, but that was only two of the licenses). Overall a very large and nice selection.

They ignore questions regarding license requests.

Brand new Astrores upscale! They showed comparisons with the SD master and the JP Blu-ray and it looks insanely good.

The master elements for the Canadian are long gone due owners of the dubbing studio throwing out things they didn't see fit. Even if the Canadian dub elements did survive or more fan recordings were unearthed, Tezuka Productions still wouldn't allow it's inclusion due to the changes it didn't approve of.
I'm not so sure about that. The French Canadian dub, which is identical to the edited English one in terms of alterations (they were literally produced by the same studio), was given an official DVD release in France in 2005 and a Canadian one in 2007. Both credit Tezuka Productions in the copyright line. The French dub was on Canadian TV as recently as 2014 (ignore the 2003 show's key art). If Tezuka really had an issue with those changes, why would they let the French version be distributed for literal decades?

What's interesting to ME about this info is that Funimation never actually released a dubbed episode 79. (There were dub TITLES for it on 78's preview, but the actual dubbed ep was never released.) So either they made a mistake that made it to their slides or they're sitting on a previously-unreleased English episode. Either way, great cover and I love that these are coming out at a good clip. Excited to finally own the entire Season 2!

Digimon was a definite surprise. Definitely gonna upgrade for that slicker video (plus possible reinstated missing stuff from the 2012 DVD) and those adorable discs.

Damn it, I arrived at home later than usual thanks to my godson/nephew's birthday party, and by the time I remembered about the Twitch stream, it was pretty much over. I'll be very glad to replace my Darkstalkers DVD with the improved upscale, and as much as I loathe the rapefest that is Violence Jack, I have to see that thing in HD and fully uncensored. I feel like an idiot for buying that disappointing Cyber City Oedo upscale, though.

And while I've never been a big Digimon fan, I'm so impressed with Discotek's upscale that I'll probably end up buying it. Also, Dorvack on SDBD is a very nice surprise. It was released on VHS in Brazil in the mid-1980s, and it might be the first anime I've ever watched.

I'm getting Devilman 72, Astro Boy 80, Violence Jack, and Darkstalkers on Blu-ray. I will probably pick up Digimon when it's on sale.
