Unhappy Good LCD for price(canadian)

after contemplating for a few days about returning my pana 42" plasma I started looking at LCD since the TV is upstairs and I will be doing gaming, I jumped at the price of the 42" pana($1600CAD) and now I kind of regret it, just wondering what some ppls take were on this tv and if its worth the money. I hear great reviews about the SXRD too bad it isnt black but i can live with it if theres no burn in. Another thing was the whole "LCD cant produce true black" issue. Anyone clarify this for me ?
