Why is RoboCop 3 so disliked? Is it because Robocop flies? So what. It's popcorn entertainment, not Shakespeare.

I don't know about the rest, but I just found the film so dull. Also, there's no Peter Weller and what they did to Lewis is criminal.

Got my Night Creatures and poster today. Its gorgeous. Even the original art is spectacular. Blind buy for me though. Looking for a frame for this poster ASAP. Gonna give it a watch soon...

Robocop 3 destroyed Fred Dekker's career, which is criminal considering how good Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad are.

Did it really hurt his career though? While I'm sure Robocop 3 didn't help, most of his prior films hadn't done well (Creeps and Monster Squad) or hadn't managed to take off(Shadow Company). Also, he was always more of screenwriter (11 films) than a director (4) and from the interviews I've read and seen, he tends to come off as someone a bit unsure of themselves or someone who would rather work behind the scenes.

What did working on RoboCop 3 do for your career?

FRED DEKKER: Killed it. Dead. Dogs barking. Tumbleweeds. "Fred who?" The movie was not well regarded. I also think it was a no-win situation.

Eh, as someone who has met the guy, Dekker can be kind of a dick. Robocop 3 is also not the only thing he blames for how his career turned out.

Man, reading these comments about him and Black I can see why The Predator was such a dog. I met Dekker once when Sony was promoting the Blu-ray and DVD debut of Night of the Creeps. It was at the Monster Mania in Cherry Hill. They couldn’t get the digital projection of Night of the Creeps to work right and he stormed out of the conference room. I left before they got it going and he was outside smoking. I could tell it would be unwise to approach him

I only learned a month or two ago there was a Canadian RoboCop TV show made in the 2000’s.
