"State of the art" immersive surround sound headphones can cost more than either of these TVs and even well into 5 figures. True "state of the art" electronics are not for the faint of heart...or wallet. Do not use the term if you don't really mean it.

And for what good purpose would you be buying any of these? To watch Netflix with their anemic single digit bit rate streams and with their lossy audio? What overkill and what a waste, but, hey, it's your money. 8K cat videos on youtube, like this one, would make for great demos to show all of your friends.

Yes you have to work within your Budget, but I was answering Wendell and a few others with Elaborate Systems. What does it cost for a Basic System in their Playground, I'm sure it's too expensive for most of us even if they build it themselves.

Like Vilya says, these guys that have High-End Systems don't do Basic. But when a Projector alone cost $25K, you know their Playgrounds are unmatched!
The scary part is they are barely scratching the surface, there are always better and more expensive Systems out there!

Nothing with Local Media Servers, I'm talking about Extended Content and Streaming Provider Servers. Especially if you are Hardwired and can utilize all the Bandwidth from your ISP. There are three forms of Distribution for Movies and TV Shows, Theatrical, Disc, and Streaming, with High Bandwidth it can be like or better than Disc. IMO the Studios will Distribute in Theatrical and Streaming, leaving Discs in the Niche Market!

Purchases are all increasingly moving towards becoming a niche market. Digital sales are dropping, too.

I'm flattered to be in good company. I would love to dress up my basement area so that it looks similar to GotMule's place which is lovely.

I really do like simple so I think I prefer that over basic.

Depends on whether or not a person knows what they are doing. Posted my LAN graphic several post back. I use wired, Wi-Fi and just added a TV and a new Wi-Fi access point. The following graphic shows my 802.11 AC connection as 433 Mbps. My ISP is “Up to 300 Mbps”, typical test shows 230 to 270 Mbps.

4K streaming barely uses 5% of my bandwidth, so the difference between my wired and wireless networks does not even remotely matter.

Wasn't the otherwise legendary Sony Z9D known to have crosstalk problems when displaying 3D content? I seem to remember hallucinating that.

You guys can use anything you want for your connections, I'm going to continue to rely on Solid Consistent Hardwire. If you like Wireless so much now they have Wireless HDMI. Will you guys use that too?

Both my wired and wireless home networks offer "solid" consistent connections. Now if only the same could be said about my ISP.

Historically, virtually all of my connectivity issues have been the fault of either my ISP or that of the streaming/ game server that I am trying to connect with. My home networks, wired and wireless, were not to blame.

All of my hdmi devices are already connected with hdmi cables; I see no reason to change anything. Running a few feet of hdmi cable between device and display is nowhere near the same thing as running ethernet cable to every internet connected device in every room in the house.

Nothing wrong with hardwired but if you think I am going to great trouble to install a wire when a $30 Wi-Fi access point works very well then you know nothing about me. TCL/Roku internet test showed > 130 Mbps, way more than needed for IPTV that I watch. Some of my old PBS recordings are MPEG-2 with a data rate of 19.1 Mbps and handled with ease.
