No, but Geoff D has promised a remastered set of the whole series will be out before the end of the year.

I was seriously considering grabbing the Zavvi set ‘cause I’m such a mark for this film, but no way I’m paying those prices for what basically amounts to a bunch of useless chotchkies. I’m good with my Best Buy steelbook box set. And if I’m being completely honest, it really bugs me that the “Rambo” title is on the box and not just “First Blood.” I hate it when the retroactively change a film’s title to fit in with what later became a franchise. At least Paramount wised up with their upcoming Raiders of the Lost Ark steelbook.

I aksed the question re: John Rambo’s filmout a few days ago, was told it’s still being evaluated as to how they’ll do it this time (tho I quite like the filmout).

Last Blood will have two cuts, US theatrical and Final Extended, whether the latter is the one that you want I have no idea, I verr confuse about all the different cuts!

That’s a good sign. The longest cut came to streaming after the longer-than-the-U.S.-theatrical-release international cut (the one found on the German 4K), so the term “Final Extended” surely indicates the longer of the three cuts and the only one not yet on disc.

Sounds good. Ideally, the fourth movie would get a new 4K scan (as otherwise it would be the only one of the five movie not to be true 4K resolution), but there is a ton of CGI gore so I guess it would be unlikely for them to go back and rebuild it from scratch. Maybe they would do that if Sly created a definitive Director's Cut (I assume he'd at least want to change the title back, considering it's no longer the final movie and that was the reason given for renaming it "John Rambo")

Are these new masters? Or are they the same Hiventy? restorations? The preorder info for the box set of First Blood doesn't mention a single thing about remastering...

I still haven't seen any Rambo sequel after the second one. Rambo III put me to sleep.

Rambo (2008) is my favorite after First Blood.
