There’s a UHD limited edition as well as a separate Blu-Ray limited edition. What do you mean exactly?

It was a limited edition, I assume the standard edition will drop the DVD bonus disc.

It’s in the cinema this week but it doesn’t feel essential when I know I can get an extras filled disc in a few months, same with Get Carter. Maybe if ODEON or Vue were showing it I would reconsider, but my Picturehouse doesn’t have the biggest screens.

Yeah, that’s my thinking too.

I mean a standard edition that doesn't contain all the extra stuff like the booklet, poster and postcards

Ben Stoddart, in the Facebook group has confirmed that Peter Watkins Privilege is being re-issued. He mentioned this in reply to my reply to someone's comment in a thread on BFI Flipside titles:

Quote:
Privilege will be reissued but sadly without the extras which we can’t renew. It will basically be the film and the film only. It also won’t be dual format as that doesn’t really make sense these days. Nobody wants it on DVD.

Not confirmed yet but they are deciding between 1-disc and 2-disc (i.e. with or without the bonus disc), depends how well the Limited Edition sells I suppose. Might be waiting a while!

Hope this means there might be a chance for Joanna and The Party's Over to be re-issued as well.

Joanna was licensed from Fox, so no, unfortunately.

The Party's Over might have a chance, but it wasn't a big seller when it was available and took some two years to sell its last copies from the point they announced it would be going OOP.

Isn't it a bit strange their referring to it as a Limited Edition when it fits the 'First Pressing Only' bill of extras like a booklet or bonus disc or both? Anyhow HMV still seems like the last place to get Judgment at Nuremberg.

It's already been repressed without its booklet since initial release - the edition HMV are currently in sole possession of is just the two discs without the Shatner essay. So maybe this really is the end of the road for it. I certainly wouldn't hang about if it's on your hitlist.

Is there any chance Kino's Cinema's First Nasty Women will get a BFI sibling, like the Pioneers of African-American Cinema and Early Women Filmmakers boxes did ?
It's one of my most anticipated releases

That's Strange. I bought a copy that has the booklet Aug 2020 but the cover is clean. No insert bubble announcing the Shatner essay. The one still on sale at HMV, that you say is without the essay, has that insert on its reference pic.

They said when the Truffaut films were first announced that they don't have the rights to the MGM films. As for 'why stop there?' - they have the rights to the films that were previously released by Artificial Eye. They're going on a case by case basis as to whether they think it's worth re-releasing a title. Most of Truffaut's films have not had new restorations done.
