The problem with that suggestion is that it would be a serious step backwards for Pixar, artistically speaking. We've already seen that kind of movie, indeed, some of us are probably way too familiar with that kind of movie by now. It would add nothing new, artistically speaking, and would seem like a hollow effort to milk the franchise for all it's worth.
The movie's premise is NOT that Andy should have been "all about Alisha/Izzy Hawthorne," that is simply absurd. The notion should be that we can all try to be as effective and independent as possible, but that there are limitations to that approach - and that at times, it takes a real team effort to get things done. That is a wonderful lesson for the young 'uns - it is now and it would have been in the 90s. |
