Also...did they stop posting the pressing run #'s? I can't seem to find how many copies of this were made.

EDIT: I also DMed Plain on instagram asking if any of the unreleased movies on my list above are canceled. Here's their response:

Act of Killing / The Immigrant are canceled. And we didn't announce any release news for Son of Saul / Detroit / Thelma. They won't be released. WWZ / Portrait: We're working on releasing these two films later this year or early next year.

I'll update the master list accordingly. Didn't mention Florida Project but I'll just assume it's gone the way of Saul/Detroit/Thelma.

Short film collection vol 2 and Inspector Koo complete series are FINALLY up for preorder, but...Koo does not have english subtitles. Which is a shame, because the set looks absolutely beautiful and the premise sounds fun, but there's no reason for me to buy it I guess, so I suppose my Plain Archive collection will be incomplete. And if it's already incomplete, might as well not buy the short film set I don't care about either lol

Plain announced on Facebook and Instagram today that they are FINALLY releasing The Florida Project as a steelbook with a full slip.

They are also releasing Our Little Sister (aka Beach Village Diary) from Hirokazu Kore-eda as a 4k UHD. Not sure if that will have English subs, but their previous Hirokazu Kore-eda films all did, so hopefully. Weirdly, the image they posted for this says it's spine #081, but House of Hummingbird was already 81, so I don't know.

Preorders for both will be in July, but no specific date yet.

Super excited about The Florida Project finally coming to fruition.

But it still hurts so much seeing Son of Saul under the "canceled" list.

This just a screenplay book? I'd love the actual movie to be released. Was my #1 film of 2023.

Yeah seems like it might just be the book, although maybe they'll do a blu too...sometimes it's hard to tell what they're doing until it's actually on the site lol even wonky app translations aside it's sometimes unclear based on their posts

Also I asked on social media if Our Little Sister will have english subs and their response was just "we will post details at a later date"

They've also announced a huge deluxe 4k release of the Korean miniseries "Little Women" as spine #83, but due to Netflix having global rights to distribute it outside of South Korea, they said on social media they cannot legally sell or ship it outside the country (and therefore, also, probably no english subs).

Florida Project was announced with a "July pre-order".

It's now mid-August, and as far as I can tell, nothing has moved forward with this one yet.

They just announced a 4k bluray of Cure coming soon. Not sure if it'll have english subs or not, but we should know soon

EDIT: More details on their facebook post, it does indeed come with english subs and is the world's first 4k release of the flick!

EDIT 2: Scratch that, they said on Facebook they do not have the rights to include english subtitles. Lame

Today, Plain put up the preorder for the movie Soulmate from 2023. Got great reviews on Letterboxd, and the package from Plain is very attractive. You can grab it here.

I also got my copy of Soulmate in and the package is beautiful. Will hopefully watch the movie soon ~
