with combined sales for both formats only in the 60K discs/week range, clearly consumers are still waiting to buy into HD. What's the missing factor still? Cheaper players? Cheaper discs? A better selection of movies? Greater HDTV penetration? Dual-format players? All of the above?

Cheaper players are the key yes, people still remember buying the standard DVD player when it first came out at like 600 bucks only to turn around and purchase one a few years later for $29.99 at Wal Mart.

Cheaper Disc, who wants to pay 30 buck for a movie they can just rent for 4 bucks, keeping in mind that most folks already have the same movie on SD, why buy the same in HD?

Better selection, hell yes! See statement above, I don't want to add the same BD/HD movie to my SD collection. Some exceptions do apply like Dracula, Underworld etc...

It's a down time for purchases, which will turn around this fall with Spiderman, Transformers etc...

But really, the price of the movies has got to drop!

PS.... The fomat war aint helping either......
