I’m not buying that an extra hour just for slow motion action scenes made a film significantly better.

Apocalypse Now Redux is a 10/10 movie for me. The original version is a 5/10 movie at best for me. Granted I saw the Redux version before the original version.

I'm not a fan of Redux - those extra scenes make the film longer, but not better. The original theatrical version is easily Coppola's best movie.

Apocalypse Now Redux gets my vote for best example of how sometimes adding stuff back can destroy an otherwise masterful movie. |

My three favorite movies of all time:
Blade Runner The Final Cut Brazil (Director's Cut) Apocalypse Now (Theatrical Cut) I am not against changing movies once they are released as long as the original is still avaliable. |

And then there are movies like Alexander, which is bad no matter which version you watch. I doubt that's unpopular, though. |

I think the only great Avengers movie is Infinity War.
The first movie lost me during the climax which I think went on for too long. The second movie had a quippy villain who was a joke when he needed to be deadly serious. The forth movie, whilst entertaining, was fan service gone mad. |

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but it caught some heat in the Abyss thread.
Movies set mainly underwater suck and, generally speaking, underwater sequences are death for a movie. With exceptions. But if they are building up to an action set piece in a a movie and people start putting on scuba gear, take a sip of coffee or make sure you're not operating any heavy machinery at the time. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |

I do still think the film was too tightly edited and likely that edit put more focus on Thor humour, Jane just feels underdeveloped to me which I think undermines a good deal of the films drama.
