You just repeated a FUD that HD-DVD supporters are known to spew. So I can't really tell if you're uninformed or a troll.

BEFORE Oct 31st, BD players are not obligated to be Profile 1.1/2.0 compliant. AFTER that date, ALL new BD player models must be; older players can still be sold. So it's really not up to the BDA to force the CEs to release Profile 1.1/2.0 before that date, however the CEs themselves can do so right now if they want to.

They will handle the movie and some features but not necessarily all of the advanced features, such as PiP or Internet Interactivity to name a few.
BD-J is the programming language behind BD playback. In itself, it is complete. It is up to the players to be 1.1/2.0 compliant. A Profile 2.0 disc can't connect to the internet with a 1.0 player nor can the extra content be fully downloaded with a 1.1 content. But a Profile 2.0 on a Profile 2.0 player can do all of the disc is intended to do. BD-J ensures that the disc features matches the player and not the other way around. In effect, the playback of the disc will be seamless regardless if the player is 1.0 or 2.0.

While you clearly like the PiP and internet features of HD-DVD, list out all of the releases that uses them so far. Compare that to the number of HD-DVDs that do not have 'em. You will find the ratio is not too compelling.

This is why it's not a compelling argument to have. We are seven weeks to go till the mandatory cut-off date for Profile 1.0 players. After that, players 1.1 compliant. By which time just like HD-DVD, the ratio of titles with PiP or internet connectivity won't be 50:50 or 1:0 but the capability for BD to do so is there. Basically the final talking point of HD-DVD fanatics will expire in seven weeks.

That's the whole reason Warner's major HD-DVD title have not come to Blu-Ray yet, they are waiting for players that can handle the features.
I think 300 has proven that it IS a major Warner title. 300 has also proven that PiP and HDi matters little to BD owners.

They are nifty features, but they are not the deal breakers. Once the final testing is done, then Warner and other studios can release 1.1/2.0 discs. Then they will see how much more Batman Begins they can sell on BD than they have done so on HD-DVD.
