It's strange how people are missing the point of releasing the very first animated feature film on 4k from Disney in its 100th anniversary year.

Way more interested to see how this turns out on 4K UHD than Cinderella.

Hopefully Pinocchio follows. That and Snow White are still my favourite Disney Classics.
Last year they were all in on D+ so we just got repackages I guess.

Alongside those comments earlier in the year, maybe now the mood has turned with how tough it seems to be to make it profitable.

I'm glad about this, though I wish there were more sources cause the Digital Bits can be a hit or miss.

Hopefully we'll see more 4K releases in the future. This is currently my wishlist:

However, I'll probably get all of their hand drawn films.

I would want most of the above, but also Bedknobs/SITS/Cauldron/Robin Hood.

I meant the ones that are part of a prestigious series.

It took only two years into the Blu-Ray format's life for Disney to start releasing Walt-era movies on Blu-Ray, but it took SEVEN years for them to do so for 4K Blu-Ray. It's hard not to feel a little impatient.

Took 16 years for VHS and laserdisc.

Technically true, but there was no home video market yet like there is now, and studios were still re-releasing movies in theaters. Mary Poppins was released on CED in 1981.

Do you think the restoration will be based on the 1993 raw 4K scan or a newer one?

Did the 1993 scan have the RKO titles?

Because that doesn’t clear as many existing overproduced BDs and DVDs from storage as selling DMC members that AND the 4K lol

It's funny you say that because I've been told I look like both of the princes, lmao. One time I was at the bus station and this group of pre-teens genuinely thought I was Prince William. They couldn't understand why I was in the area, so I gaslit them and said I was sight-seeing.
