This was the third Murakami book I've read recently, and I just don't get it. I loved Kafka on the Shore the whole way through. Norwegian Wood was a slog at first, but by the end I thought it exceptional.
Wind-Up Bird was a slog through the second half of the book, and I mean I had to force myself to finish it. Normally I give up on books if they get that way (life is too short and there are too many other books), but I liked the other two so much, I just kept hoping. I'll take a break from Murakami books for awhile. |
