Loki Season 1 is literally the only completely new material post Endgame that I absolutely loved (Guardians 3 aside, not exactly brand new material) so I’m hoping that Season 2 measures up. Quantumania really did a fantastic job of making Kang about as threatening as a cabbage

Kang isnt a singular threat.......its his variants despite THAT Kang's portrayal.

If Thanos' younger version can be a threat to Earth, imagine what 1000 Thanos' who have a gameplan can do.

From what we saw in Quantumania, it's clear why Kang is a potentially bigger threat than Thanos

Sorry, I’m too busy laughing at the horrible VFX and hammy acting in that shot to imagine him being a threat

And in all seriousness, I find that the ironic thing about raising the stakes so high is that it becomes more nebulous and vague and therefore less threatening. Many of the Batman films have had intense suspense and emotional stakes despite never expanding the threat past Gotham City. The MCU had villains that threatened the whole planet, then the whole universe (Thanos), and now an infinite multiverse of every timeline blah blah blah (Kang). It’s just words at this point. There is a bad guy, he is mad with power, and the good guys will beat him in the end. You can only raise the ante so far.

Does not really have to be 1000 of them. Just the one that learned from all the others. This is how He Who Remains got in power. His flaw was he could not see past the incursions. He did not think Sylvie would kill him.

Very cool to see the movie poster and billboard for the character of Zaniac in there, even if it's just an extremely ancillary character in the series:

During one moment in Loki season 2's trailer, a poster can be seen advertising what appears to be a new film or stage play named "Zaniac!" In Marvel Comics, Zaniac was an entity that originated in the Dark Dimension with the capability to possess humans. Any possessed human hosts possessed would be fueled with bloodlust and the desire to kill women. In the modern era, an actor shooting a horror film - portraying a villain named Zaniac - was possessed in the University of Chicago. This, and the introduction of Chicago's Midway Plaisance, could tease Zaniac's introduction in Loki season 2.

https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Zaniac_(Earth-616)

In the modern era, the entity possessed actor Brad Wolfe while he filmed a slasher movie at the University of Chicago, the site of early experiments for the Manhattan Project. Wolfe was dressed as the film's villain, the Zaniac, when he was caught in an nuclear explosion caused by a pyrotechnics mishap that ignited residual radiation. The blast gave Wolfe superhuman strength and the ability to create knives out of pure energy. Driven insane by the entity, Wolfe began to act out the film's script and kidnapped Shawna Lynde, a friend of Thor's alter-ego Dr. Donald Blake. Thor managed to rescue Shawna from Wolfe but he escaped, intent on acting out the film's climax: the mass murder of a women's shelter. Thor arrived moments before Wolfe could kill the women. Enraged, Wolfe unleashed a barrage knives at Thor, who used his hammer to deflect them back at Wolfe, knocking him off a rooftop and ultimately subduing him.[2]

Not to mention this shot from the trailer:

In one blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment in Loki season 2's trailer, an image of multiple Kang the Conqueror variants can be seen battling each other. Each sports their comic-accurate purple and green costumes, calling back to Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's Council of Kangs, as several Kang variants donned similar armor. He Who Remains revealed the secrets of the multiversal war in Loki season 1, so this piece of art could be referring to the previous battle. However, this could also be teasing the events of Phase 6's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which is expected to feature several Kang variants pitted against a new team of Avengers in the MCU.

I found the first season of Loki to be a bit disappointing despite its excellent production design and score. Despite that the trailer for the new season does look promising, I’m not quite buying it 100% already but I’m hopeful.

The MCU's always been garbage. They peaked with Iron Man 1 and went downhill.

Looks good. I like that poster even more than the last one. I will wait for Disney Movie Insiders has that one for points.

Hopefully season two is better than season one. I honestly can't remember what happened in the first one. I just remember being bored. I'm not trying to hate on the show, as Loki was my most anticipated Disney+ MCU show after seeing the trailer.

I dont see the Time-Keepers being relevant after Kang.

Unless you wanna see Lady Thor vs Lady Loki in Season 3.
Wait, this is "set-up" filler for a movie scheduled to come out in 2026 (or later now with the strikes)? I'm sorry, but these Disney+ shows need to be their own thing and separate from the movies.

One perspective could be that it's filler and another could say it's backstory that fills in the blanks prior to the MCU films that are tied into this storyline so folks aren't totally confused once they're released.
