Yeah. His delivery is crap.

Lol Leo isn't great in this movie. And that's not an unpopular take.

DiCaprio BECAME a good actor...over time. It's no wonder he wasn't nominated for an Oscar for Titanic and Kate was. I always thought she gave the better performance, and clearly the Academy thought so too.

In fairness the last time I saw it was a little over 10 years ago on the infamous two tape VHS release (full screen if you're curious) so maybe I'll enjoy it more if I ever saw it again

Agreed. He had not reached his potential yet in Titanic IMHO. The first films I recall him being near perfect was Gangs of New York and Catch Me If You Can. I have always felt that in many of his early films he just wasn't quite there.

I think he is referring to Sorority Babes of the Titanic. Of course, they're not exactly sorority babes now.

For once we agree on something. I'm a sucker for vintage retail so malls in 4K would be glorious.

To me his line is less about "aging" and more about being acted in a silly way. Which, it kinda was, but to his credit I find that charming. It was always like that though which doesn't strike me as an "of the period" thing.

It’s sure better than James Cameron saying it. 😂

Leo was the worst part of the movie. He's mostly likable in the role but his acting and delivery is basic if not bordering on bad. This was still when he was just getting cast for his looks instad of his acting chops. He eventually became a good actor but he honestly never struck me as being good until Django, Wolf of Wall Street, the Revenant and Once Upon a Time where he opened up a bit.

He gradually became servicable in movies like Gangs of New York, Inception and the Departed but he became actually good starting with Django.

Winslett was clearly the superior actor in Titanic which is why she got nominated and Leo didn't.

I think my favorite moment (pre-iceberg) might be Billy Zane's delivery of this line, "Rose is displeased. What to doooooo?"

Guys...the screenplay for Titanic didn't get nominated, James Cameron called for the removal of film critic Kenneth Turan at the LA Times for saying the dialog in the film made him want to weep in frustration...Titanic is a handsome production. Impeccably produced. Not the greatest screenplay in the world. Leo and Kate did heroic work selling that script.

I actually didn't have problems with the screenplay, but I think that mostly has to do with the caliber of actors in the film -- Leo included. I fell hard for this film. It's one of the only films that drew me back to the theater to see it again -- 5 times! I am so excited about this coming to UHD.

As much as remixes for ballads are frowned upon I’ve always loved how over the top the Drama At Sea remix was. It was only released on the 2 LP vinyl - possibly as promo only- but easy to find on discogs etc

Again it’s over the top crazy.

Also, this better be packed with special features, since it took so long to arrive. I still have high hopes that one day they'll release an extended edition of the movie!

As much as I’d like the open matte version to be included, it’s not going to happen.

The “25th Anniversary” release was a constant 2.40:1 in IMAX versus 2012 where it only played in 1.78:1/1.90:1 (70mm/digital) in IMAX.
