Why do people think Disney won’t release the UHD disc along side the US one like in 2012 with the bluray ?

Because back in 2012, Fox wasn't owned by Disney and used to consistently release titles on physical media.

True, but at this point Disney bothers with so few international markets they might as well include the 3-4 languages they intend to cover.

DV with crap compression or HDR10 with good compression, talk about Geoffy’s Choice. This shouldn’t have crazy HDR, or anything even approaching mild HDR, so the DV tone mapping would be of limited use to any kind of half decent TV. But I still wants that Paramount collectors edition, though it depends if Disnee announce anything as I’d rather buy local.

Disney might be finally be starting to truly dive into the UHD format though, this has been a surprisingly good year for Disney in UHD. I would honestly shocked if Disney doesn't release at least some major catalog Fox movies in UHD before the end of Bob Iger's tenure as CEO.

That CE set looks bigger than the Star Trek: TMP DC set. I'm thinking the book alone would make the set box thicker than the TMP set.

Looking at the extras, I am surprised they aren't adding in Ghosts of the Abyss in some form. The 3D disc is pretty cool.

It’s crazy how Disney would discontinue physical media after taking over a studio full of great films that deserve a physical 4k disc release.

Worst case, if they f up the 4K, the existing Blu Ray, which supposedly is reference material, is still there.

Disney is not stupid, they released both Avatars for Cameron and have others in the works. Obviously Europe and by extension the UK will get a release. The only ones out on the sinking deck are Australia and Southeast Asia. But at least SA has Japan and the US to cross import from. Australia’s going to have to rely on Europe.
