Which Bond actor was the best?

For me, it’s Daniel Craig, both in terms of acting and filmography (he’s only had one “forgettable” movie to Brosnan’s one good movie, though he was the face of GoldenEye 64 which I have a lot of fond memories of). Call it a recency bias, but he nailed the essence of that character in ways nobody thought possible going in (more on that below) and I don’t think there will ever be anybody else like him.

Ironic because I still remember the site CraigNotBond.com like it was yesterday which pretty much everybody was in agreement he’s not Bond before seeing a second of footage for Casino Royale simply because he’s blond (which that site hammered home that “fact” in case you weren’t up-to-speed). That aged real well.
