From an outside perspective, yes, Bloodborne is harder than DS3. Mainly because you can't block/use a shield like in DS3. Your main defense is to dodge attacks. You can parry, but not all bosses can be parried.

I'd be all for a remake or a remaster so long as Bluepoint don't go anywhere near it

Why not?? They did an amazing job with both Demon Souls and Shadow of the Colossus.

See, there's where I strongly disagree. They did a decent port of the original Shadow of the Colossus for the PS3, but their remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls made numerous artistic and aesthetic choices that I felt were poor and missed the point of those games entirely.

Watch them remake Bloodborne and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Bluepoint should stick to doing ports.

I need to look up screen shot comparisons to see the differences more closely.

Out of curiosity, can you expand a bit on what you mean by Blupoint missing the point of those games with their changes to the artistic elements and aesthetics.

Just want a better understanding as far as examples.

These two videos do a pretty good job of articulating what I mean

But basically, they're not creatives at Bluepoint, they're like the marketing people, and their remakes of SOTC and DeS are essentially tech demos for whatever platforms they put them out for. There's a lot of money and technology on the screen but they never think about why certain things were the way that they were in the originals, and they're not interested in thinking about those things because they never consult with the teams that made the original games. Fumito Ueda complained that he had a list of suggestions for the Shadow of the Colossus remake and Bluepoint basically ignored them all.

So yeah, don't want them to go anywhere near Bloodborne. If Bloodborne is to be remade, it should be by FromSoft with Miyazaki's strong involvement

ETA: There's also this article, which is about the Super Mario RPG remake, but everything said here equally applies to the Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus remakes

Thanks for opening my eyes. I haven't played the original Demon Souls in years and don't have an amazing or photographic memory. Basically I obviously didn't remember the PS3 original on the level to where I noticed just how much Bluepoint ****ed with it for the remakd. Same with SotC.

Um yeah, you and those videos (plus I watched a few others that were recommended in the Youtube page) have changed my views. Considering Bloodborne is one of my all time favorite games overall...I now don't want that company anywhere near it. Good lord. With all the gothic architecture and overall creepy atmosphere, I would indeed be worried of the number of ways they can mess that up.

Bluepoint did the Uncharted 1-3 remaster and they were totally fine.

Yes, because those are ports. They merely tweaked the existing game, they didn't basically build an entirely new game with entirely redesigned assets from the ground up using the same source code like they did with Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls. As I've said before, Bluepoint have done pretty good ports of MGS2 & 3, Ico and the original Shadow of the Colossus and God of War. That's what they're good at. When they remake games they miss the point of them entirely

The first mention of Bluepoint in this thread is you saying you don't want them to do a remaster of this game, which I assume you would consider a port. (Though these are all somewhat fluid terms.)

They did fine on the Uncharted remasters.

Due to PS4 limitations, FromSoftware made changes to the early areas like Gascoigne.

For years now, Bloodborne fans have wanted the popular PS4-exclusive RPG ported to PC, hopefully with performance improvements and graphical options. And while FromSoftware’s president Hidetaka Miyazaki didn’t confirm that such a port is happening, he did say he’s not opposed to it and suggested that many people at the studio want a PC port to happen.

Released nearly a decade ago in 2017 exclusively for PlayStation 4, Bloodborne is one of FromSoftware’s (Dark Souls, Elden Ring) most popular and beloved games. Like many of its other games, Bloodborne is a tough-as-nails action RPG featuring intense boss battles and many secrets. However, unlike many of FromSoftware’s RPGs, Bloodborne has never been ported to other platforms. It remains stuck on PS4. That’s led to people asking over and over again for the Sony-owned Bloodborne to get a PC port. And it sounds like, while Miyazaki doesn’t have anything to announce, he seems into the idea of this fan-favorite RPG finally being playable on something other than a PS4.

So this is my first time playing this game. I'm pretty late game. The Hunter's Dream is burning. The Doll tells me Gehrman is waiting for me. So far so good. I guss Gehrman is the final boss of the game? I don't want to beat him yet as I feel like there is still plenty of things left to do. I read about Chalice Dungeons (how long, confusing, hard and tedious they can be etc). And going by the trophy tracker I still need to defeat one other boss (some Queen) and find an extremely rare blood gem. Are these two trophies tied to the Chalice Dungeons? My guess is the Queen is the final boss of these Dungeons, right? The blood gem might be a reward I get from completing these Dungeons? Thank you.

Bloodborne is the best "adaptation" of H.P. Lovecraft's body of work. I know it's not an adaptation, but rather heavily inspired by Lovecraft's work. Definitely better than all movies and tv shows based on his work. Hell, I even enjoy Bloodborne more than some of Lovecraft's own stories! 10/10 masterpiece.

I always say FF7 (the original) is my favourite game but, I think really it's Bloodborne.

I never understood the hate for the chalice dungeons. Whenever I start a new character I always go into the chalice dungeons as soon as I kill the Blood Starved Beast.

I've played a ton of games that have endgame content and Bloodborne's chalice dungeons are up the with the best of them IMO. Even if you don't get the particualar item you are farming for, you always get a ton of gems and echoes which are used for pretty much everything. It never feels like your time was wasted.

Sony are either the stupidest company in the world or are saving the Bloodborne upgrade/remaster as a launch title for the PS6.

Only discovered this masterpiece quite recently, but today I finished my 3rd playthrough. And it just gets better and better each time I play it. I did a Kill-All-Bosses-NG+ Run with the Beasthunter Saif. That weapon should be illegal, that's how good it is. Getting the Platinum trophy was so much fun. The Hunter Axe is also amazing as hell. Carried me through my entire 1st playthrough. I think it might still be my favorite weapon in the game. I did try the Saw Cleaver for quite a bit, but somehow it doesn't really mash all too well with my play style. Now onto DS3.

Been itching to replay this after spending the last two years mainly playing DS2 and Elden. This will be my fourth playthrough overall but the first time I go through NG+
