Can anyone answer me that the video in the disc is real 59.94 frames per second or they just made 59.94i to fulfill the frame to made it looks like 29.97fps in progressive?

I’m doubt about this because I have bought some Blu-ray from Japan which said 59.94i but when I’m deinterlaced it’s still looks like 29.97fps, it’s not smoother. But for Mariah’s concert I have seen it when it was VHS and DVD and it’s real 60fps, so I’m just have some hope that her Blu-ray is real 60fps too!
Sorry to bump this old thread. I got this Japanese version of The Rareties yesterday and couldn't wait to behold the splendour. It's indeed 59.94fps, but due to it being interlaced, the image quality is, albeit great, limited.
