Default Best sub-$400 TV?

I'm going to be moving soon and a family member has offered to buy me a new TV as a housewarming gift. She said she's willing to pay up to $300, but I think I can get her to go a little bit higher or offer to pay part of it myself.

I'm hoping to get a 4K set with decent HDR, but I'm ok with sticking to 1080p for reliability's sake. My goal is to keep this set for at least 5 years without seeing any significant picture issues, though obviously if it's only been on the market a year or two there's not really a way to tell if it'll last that long. I'm not super concerned about built-in streaming stuff since I already have a Fire stick. I don't have a soundbar at the moment, and I've heard a lot about how modern TVs don't have good sound, but as long as it's not actively unlistenable I think I'll manage.

Anyone have a good recommendation?
