Last one I purchased directly from a site was Constantine with Keanu.

It was there for several months... then it disappeared.
No warning, no explanation, just gone.. and hasn't returned to my purchased movies list on itunes or Movies Anywhere.
Pissed me right off.

Online movies are "as is if available"

Best to learn that sooner than later.

On topic the last one I redeemed is Purple Rain which was FREE with the UHD BD. I don't buy them because you don't own them but I don't have any complaints about things that are free.

That was my first purchase from an online company, and it may very well be my last. Funny thing is that movie is still available from both sites.
and Yes, I made sure I didn't rent it.

Maybe they meant it was a rent to own movie and they saw I missed several payments..

I only have a little over 150 physical copies.
Seems you learned the lesson you speak of years ago with over 2,000+ movies.
Do you have a giant wall of movies or do you have several shelves about the place? Maybe a room dedicated to the collection?
Have you posted any pictures of what you've amassed that a mere mortal such as I can gaze in wide wonder at?

My god, you're another one with over 2,500 collected. Seems insane to some but I totally get it.

How about you.. Have you posted any pics of your amassed collection?
I'm really wondering about storage options, but I only have a little over 150 pieces.

I built the collection via lots of cheap and used purchases through the years. I have some posts on the set up on the post photos of your collection thread. I built two of my own racks.

This is one of his best films in years. Too bad it was too Irish to get a big release in the USA.

I do like a lot of his stuff. I might have to check that out.

I'm not so sure about US movies anymore. Most of the big releases seem to be to.... agenda driven in one form or another. It turns me away for sure.

I also have been collecting for many years that's how large collections happen. I started collecting DVDs in the late 1900s. When video rental stores like Hollywood Video and Blockbuster went out of business I bought many movies sometimes under $1.

(So far I haven't tracked down the pix of my colleciton that I recently posted but I will keep looking or maybe I will post another pic. It's really just some shelves I made myself and some of the very older stuff like DVDs gets stored separately.)

It certainly makes sense. I have a hundred or so of Blu-ray’s that are in sleeves from Blockbuster’s mail-in Netflix-like service. Including some like Criterion’s “The Third Man” and other films which are hard to find. I wish I had whole cases for ‘em but until then I’m happy to have them and I had “Old Boy” too but was VERY happy to get the awesome NEON release when it became available earlier this year.

Brightburn. Bought the UHD and it came with a code. Saw the film in the theater and like how brutal it is. Would have liked a sequel.
