Completely agree, £50 with UK VAT paid or £41.67 if an export, is an absolute bargain for what you get.

UK postage at £5 isn't too bad either for next day delivery, although they do use Evri

Evri is my main worry as well. They are currently messing me around with a couple of Lego orders from Game.

Lol! One can always count on a gimmick buyer getting very angry over the mere hint they are paying way too much for unnecessary junk.

But dont worry I will be buying many more UK actual BDs with the money I save.

My comment was not that it was too much money for the content provided, only that seems to me to be a lot of money for one film. I know other films have LE that go for high prices. I am not sure if this really the model that at least I want, going forward. From a purely selfish reason, if this becomes more the norm, then I can no longer to afford this hobby.

Yes. What I heard as well.

I presume the later wide release will be available elsewhere but makes sense the keep the LE to their own direct sales.

BTW anyone seen an edition size for the LE. Not seen they are numbered boxes as the likes of Indicator do.

Sounding like a broken record on my track record with Evri.

My recent WoW delivery was delivered by Evri to a random house up my road. At least from the photo on the delivery record could recognise the front door and retrieve from them. A household I'd never spoken to up to now.

A neighbour we are friends with, had an Evri parcel delivered to a house a few streets away. She had to drive round the locality to match to the photo as they never brought it to her either.

Was this the one where the BD was a crowd funder a few years back ? as if so have the BD in storage.

Like many crowd funders they screwed the backers as we received the plain 1 disc retail version, despite being promised loads of exclusive extra interviews on a backer exclusive 2 disc BD, which IIRC they sold to Anolis to include on their German Hammer releases.

I dont know what was more silly, Universal issuing this LE junk or the numerous post for months claiming to had made a 'new amazing find' when it was in countless stores for $10 in large quantities.
lol

No it’s not the crowd funded release.
That crowd funded project was Hammer Horror: The Warner Bros Years done in 2015

Hammer: Heroes, Legends and Monsters
This is a new hammer films 90th anniversary documentary by Sky UK/Deep Fusion it was produced in 2024

Happy Halloween!
This was a very thorough documentary, and it was nice to see John Gore at the end which brought it up to date.

I am related to a member of original Hammer crew, his name appears at the start of most of their films as editor or supervising editor: James Needs.

I was hoping he'd be mentioned here, but no luck. If anyone has watched any other docs on Hammer (I'm aware there are a few) I'd be grateful to know if he ever gets a mention, as I know little about that side of the family.

One man's unnecessary junk is another man's treasure.

While I personally do not care about fancy packaging, posters, art cards, beer mats, keychains etc., I do love me a good, solid booklet.

This release is clearly meant for the hardcore Hammer fans, and as such, I find what they offer as far as booklets to be of superb value. We get one with a complete reprint of the Captain Kronos comics from the old Hammer in-house magazine from the 1970s (100 pages), and then another one of a whopping 130 pages filled with new essays and reprints of original press material, contemporary articles and interviews etc.

For most people, this is probably not worth £50. For me, it is a steal at that price. I honestly expected it to be more like £75-90.

Have looked at the pricing and it is comparable to what other boutique labels charge in the UK.

If you look at Second Sights "Picnic at Hanging Rock".

Luxury Limited edition 2xUHD and 2xBD with books and stuff £60
UHD 2xUHD in plastic case £30
BD 2xBD in plastic case £20

So, £50 actually feels a bit low.
However, Second Sight do give you the choice of luxury or basic versions day 1.

That's "very angry"? You Canucks really are polite if someone saying "It may be more than you want to pay, that doesn't make it expensive" is making you feel victimised...

Maybe - just maybe - this release isn't aimed at you as others have said. But it's not expensive compared to the market. Jog on, lad.
