Cool Help me decide: Sony UBP-X800 vs Xbox One S (or other)

I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages between the two models mentioned above The Sony UBP x800 and the Xbox One S.

Keep in mind this is only going to be for watching disc space movies and possibly online based movies. No gaming will be done on this machine.

The one thing I like about the Xbox One S that the Sony UBP x800 doesn't have is the ability to convert sound from any source whether it be Dolby DTS or LPCM into an appropriate headphone soundtrack and piped out through the toslink out as a post converted headphone signal which sounds 3D as it accurately conveys the 3D sound information.

I know they both do 4K discs and 3D discs but the Xbox One does not do 3D apps apparently cuz I tried to do Wal Mart's Vudu/fandango and Super Mario Bros movie would not registers 3D on the Xbox One S.

I don't like the limited movie app selection of the UBP x-800. I know the Xbox has the Sony beat on that department except for 3D ability.

I understand the one flaw with the Xbox sound is you have to manually switch between Dolby DTS and LPCM in order to get the best sound out of every movie but unlike other combinations of Blu-ray players and sound decoders this will get every disk sounding good I heard You just have to match the headphone soundtrack with the disc encoding.

Dad doesn't have a 3D TV yet in the front room but if I'm correct I think I could add a way to add a 3D feature on any TV by using an HD Fury and converting frame packed 3D movies into alternate frame 3D movies and syncing it up with the device.

If I could put the HD Fury on after the TV into the HDMI arc signal then in theory it should be synced up with the output of the TV not the inputs into the TV. And if we're not playing games that makes sinking it up a non-issue with the timing of the alternate frames.

Dad currently doesn't have a 4K TV and we have a couple movies that are 4K media only and I know that the 4K players can downgrade the media to your TVs 1080p.

If my theory is correct then there is a way you can hook up an HD Fury to the HDMI ARC portion and get the timing timed up with the post delay timing not the pre-delay timing.

Also the communal room is very awful for having communal surround sound It's very asymmetrical with a one way slanted ceiling and two corners of the room being open on the right therefore probably the only solution to a decent sound would be a headphone based system.

Just wondering what would be a better machine in general or if there's a better other option.
