I originally collect movies because of the lack of rentals. During DVD time, it’s not until after the second year Blockbuster Canada starting to have DVD for rentals and pretty much all of them are in pan and scan. So I want the OAR, I have to buy them.
Prior to that was the laserdisc. The rentals (Blockbusters and Hollywood) also only stock P/S version making me forced to buy the LD as I want the OAR version During bluray days, there is no more bluray rentals anywhere around me. So I resorted back to purchasing movies. Then add the clinical OCD that makes me re-buy everything I had on DVD in bluray format. The same goes for the 4K discs. After owning Kscape, I have stopped buying for most movies and I have saved at least $2K in renting movies instead of buying them. |

Werewolves was lots of fun last night - glad I saw it in the theater. Will definitely buy it on BD. I doubt we'll get a 4K disc, because it's a lower budgeted film from an independent studio.
I just watched Alien: Romulus on 4K disc and it was an awesome disc. Reference Atmos track, IMO. |

I am one hour into my 12 hour fast. I am having blood drawn tomorrow for another slate of tests. It is the first of 5 medical appointments over the next 7 days.
After that, I still have 4 more appointments to finish out the month with 2 of them during Christmas Week. How's that for holiday planning? ![]() |

I had a 3 day fast for a routine medical procedure fairly recently however I was able to have lemonade and honestly I think I could live on lemonade for a lot longer than 3 days. No problem, I love lemonade.

I always get a bit of a chuckle at how different this thread is than anywhere else on this site... It seems we're all of a certain age where this is the digital equivalent of a couple of old guys meeting on a park bench to feed pigeons and complain about our various ailments.. LOL..
My weight fluctuates by 30 to 50 pounds within a given year... In my weight loss cycle, I practice intermittent fasting so right now I go about 48 hours every week without eating as a matter of routine... Funny story, growing up catholic, we fasted for a full 24 hours on Good Friday with the understanding that it was sinful to either complain or show outward discomfort in any way that would signal the fact that you were fasting. Suffering in silence was the virtue. When I converted to Judaism and fasted on yom kippur, I was taken really taken by how much my wife's family and shul's congregation actively *****ed and complained loudly about how much suffering everyone was enduring....for a fast that ended at SUNDOWN..LOL ![]() |

I fast on occasion just to keep a stable weight and lift heavy weights. I also gave up alcohol earlier this year and that makes you shed a ton of weight right off the bat. It also got rid of a ton of inflammation I had in my lower back and foot. I initially thought I was getting gout but I was told that it wasn't gout, because you'd be in a lot of pain if I did. Haven't felt this good in years. I also go to sleep early and wake up early, I'm usually up at 4:30am - 5am ready to go. |

Mostly young people here. I’m not very far from 80 and do not consider myself old but I am a realist and know I am vintage.
![]() I got started early, at 17 I was the head guy of the TV and appliance repair department of a small town store. At 19 I was the NCOIC (non-commissioned officer in charge) of the TV branch in the Army’s Chemical Center and School. |

I'm a child of the 80's so the bulking up and cutting up cycle in body building has been a lifelong thing for me, much to my wife's chagrin. As far as heavy weights are concerned, my firm belief that "warming up was for sissies " means that at 52, all of my connective tissue is shot. A 2 story rock climbing fall last year means that I have minor tears in both my rotator cuffs. Arthritis means that I can barely grip a bar...basically I suck... ![]() I have a whole host of inflammation related issues that arise whenever the scale hits 200lbs ( used to be 225) and completely disappear below 180 which I crossed last week... so I'm feeling great right now.. LOL |
