I've noticed a new trend taking shape regarding Japanese PS3 games: Limited editions with download codes for exclusive in-game content.
Back in the days of Super Famicom, Playstation, Playstation 2 and the likes, there were also limited editions only available if you preordered. However, in those days the 'extra' was usually a poster, keychain or other trinket. Now I've noticed more and more games come with extra in-game content only if you preorder the game, like: - Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2: download code for costume for Ryuu (the Karas-inspired one) - Dragon Ball Z Raging Blast: download code for Broly Super Saiyajin 3 + 6 alternate versions of other Saiyajin - Tekken 6: download code for 'red ki' in arcade mode Do you guys take notice of that and purposely preorder to get those download codes? For the three games I've mentioned, I'm going to preorder to get that extra in-game content, even if it costs me a bit more. |
