Good lord. Made my first, and probably last, boutique seller order in weeks and now they are nickel and diming us to death! Taxes and shipping have always been a given but now I’m seeing tariff fee, Route, tithe, indulgence, gratuity, handling, insurance, pizzo, smog abatement etc. WTF

I did a pre-order with Diabolik recently that included a "Tariff Fee" that was then refunded 24 hours later which makes me wonder if all these boutiques were adding the fee "just in case" but it wasn't needed to begin with. It's also what I appreciate about CDJapan who I order from time to time who stated on their website:

"The new reciprocal tariff policy has been announced, but there’s no change for products originating from Japan when shipped to the U.S. Items such as CDs, Blu-rays, LPs, books, and DVDs will continue to be exempt from duties for U.S.-bound deliveries if the subtotal is under USD $800."

Have not made an order with Diabolik in some time. They apparently have cheaper FedEx international shipping charges now, but there could be possible further FedEx charges (I read it elsewhere on here earlier this year).

There are a couple of television series DVD boxsets I've wanted to order from CD Japan, but before committing to placing an order I've hoped to see any comments/feedback posted on here.

CDJapan is awesome, I've been ordering from them since the early 2000s when I started importing DVDs like Ringu, Battle Royale and Ichi the Killer.

I've never had any issues getting things delivered from them, but shipping times will depend on how much you are looking to pay. For example, if you were to buy the Ju-on import set from them it would be about $18 shipping to the US (5 to 12 days shipping time) whereas FedEx Priority is closer to $28 with a shipping time of 2 to 3 days.

Thanks for your help. The last time I checked CD Japan for both DVD season sets the cheapest shipping charge in UK pounds was around £19 to £20. (either DHL or FedEx).

China's first, but who can say who's next based on the whims of one person:

I too have had nothing but positive experiences ordering from CD Japan, though it’s been a few years since my last order.

How about the tariffs being tacked on at Orbit? Are those mandatory or can I contact them with a dispute?

I'm ordering the Arrow 4K of A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS.

Unfortunately new Shoplifters bluray isn't part of the sale, hopefully it is at some point.

Funny thing is even if you buy all 13 it's still not enough for free shipping.

For those still filling in gaps in their Twilight Time collections (yes, there are still a few of us!), Screen Archives Entertainment is having a 25% off flash sale, using code TWILIGHT0525. Good until midnight on Sunday (May 18).
