Any good filmmaker will want their film to stand as a work of art, not as a generic product to consume and forget about. Any good company will want to put their product out there in the best possible quality. They'll also ideally want to identify what their customers desire and find a way of giving it to them. Warners could do MOD discs to produce exactly as many as are likely to sell. This is why boutiques do runs of 1000 for some titles. There is only one conclusion that can be drawn - Warners don't care about art, quality or their customers. |
