VAMPIRE LOVERS is with MGM and TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA is with Warner; however, FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL is owned by Hammer outright, so this one is a real possibility, though as much as I love it, I would hardly call it "groundbreaking," a term which CAN be applied to both CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN and DRACULA, however.

I'd like it if they could a new restoration of the TALES OF FRANKENSTEIN pilot.

Looking forward to seeing how this compares to the WAC blu-ray, which was based on new 4K scans of the separation masters.

I imagine the colour grading will see the biggest improvement, although the WAC blu-ray was no slouch in that department.

Why would Hammer do a new scan of the separation masters for The Curse Of Frankenstein and have to do all that work to realign them since some have shrunk over time and Warner Archive did all that work and they were scan in 4k.

I guess it depends what elements Hammer own vs Warner as it was a co-production with rights split.

There’s nothing to say Hammer don’t have their own elements to work with and may not even have access to Warner’s work.

Hammer don't own master elements. Warner provided the IP that Hammer scanned in HD in 2012 (and made a right hash of it, but that was then).

It would be utter madness to use anything but the 4K scan already done. You'd presume being so recent and very much a preservation remaster, RAW scan files will have been archived to allow a true HDR pass if they wanted to.

Dracula is the one that needs a 4k release before The Curse Of Frankenstein the last blu ray was a restoration done by the BFI in 2008 along with Hammers work on the extended cut. I'm fine with the Warner Archive release of The Curse Of Frankenstein. Dracula needs a whole new scan of the film elements along with the Japanese footage.

Yes, Dracula is crying out for a new restoration.

On the other side of that coin though, the 4K restoration of CoF is presumably just sitting there, ready to be mastered for 4K release.

If this gets a true gothic classic out in the meantime and gives more time for a proper Dracula restoration to happen, I'm all for it.

Is there anyone besides me who would also be delighted with a UHD of FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL? Despite the rather ridiculous make-up, it does have some surprisingly grim and gruesome scenes, and it does mark the swansongs for both Terence Fisher (as a director) and Peter Cushing (as Baron Frankenstein in a Hammer film).

Yes. There's not a single one of the gothic horrors I wouldn't be delighted with in UHD, even if it was a case of "waiting for the standard edition".

Dracula and Dracula, Prince of Darkness are crying out on multiple levels for their definitive releases. Let it be one of these and let people get excited about the line again.

I'd love to see that - I actually really like the monster makeup in that one! When I was at school someone had the chutzpah to put that Monster Mag fold-out photo of Peter Cushing holding an artery between his teeth up on the classroom wall (it didn't last long there). Happy days :-)

Not only would I be delighted, I think that's what Friday's announcement will be. It would be consistent with the releases of Kronos and the two Quatermass movies, all of which seem to have been part of the same rights package a few years back. Plus F&tMfH is just about to end a spell streaming on Prime, which is also consistent with earlier 4K releases.
