Default Selling / Shipping Question

I recently sold an item through Amazon. Shipped it out the next day, and the funds showed up in my Amazon account. No problems... yet.

3 days later, I receive an Exception email from FedEx stating: "Refused by recipient - Not ordered | Unable to deliver shipment, return to shipper."

I contacted that particular local FedEx in TX, and they said the owner of the house didnt even open the package, as they instantly refused it stating that they didnt order anything. The package is being sent back to me.

Ive left 2 emails with the buyer, to try and resolve this, however they get bounced back.

My question would be: Should I wait to hear back from them before I issue them a refund - in case it was a mistake and they do want the item? Or should I just issue them a refund, and relist the item?

The thing is, I have no phone number for contact, and a bogus email address associated with their Amazon account. I would look up their phone number by their mailing address, but its unlisted.

Thanks!
