I remember when the director of Transformers was complaining about this in his blog and then the next day supposedly took back everything. I guess he got a few million thrown his way lol

Michael Bale posted in a bit of anger that if he stuck to could have burnt a few bridges.

From what I understand from the forum posts he made, he went to dinner with some friends who were blu-ray adopters, they related the situation, he got upset and posted a rant.

He later calmed down a bit, and actually talked to Paramount to get their side of it, and changed his mind.

Doubtful they sent any more millions his way than they were sending him anyway for another title.

welcome to old news. Here's some other things you missed: Universal, Paramount, and Dreamworks movies will only be on hd-dvd possibly for a long time. Shrek 3 also.

If you missed all this, then you also missed the news that the reason HD-DUD camp did this was to bring Transformers and Shrek 3 to their side--wanted to bring in the two biggest movies of the year (that was their quote).

I really think that something was sent his way. Transformers was one of Warner Brothers biggest titles right around the time of the switch to HD-DVD exclusivity so out of all the directors that do business with WB he stands to lose the most, so it has all of the grounds of a conspiracy theory but I still think that he was given *something* for the letdown. I heard that Spielburg received an option to let let Warner put out BD movies when he puts out his next movie as well...

go to ebay and quit complaining about this. I can't believe that people are still complaining about this. Every other blu studio is giving you a crapton of movies. Paramount only gave us a few compared to the other studios. Just count those titles, its ridicoulous that they could only get that # of movies out in the length of time they were neutral. So to sum up, screw paramount. Buy those movies on ebay or on amazon and quit crying about how you can't get them. By the way that still have 85% of those titles at my best buy.

The only ones I care about:
- Comign to America
- Payback
- U2
- The Warriors

And I had already bought them before the deal went down.

I MAYBE would have gotten Tomb Raider and Sleepy Hollow later on a lowed price, but I'm not upset about them.

I will REALLY miss Transformers, but thats about it.

don't worry there are plenty of copies of each at retail and online for quite some time. Not even mentioning the used market. The bigger losses are the ones we won't get going forward.

Transformers with AVC high bit rate & LPCM 5.1
Shrek the Turd

damn is that it? lol j/k

While I already have all the ones from that list that I want, why would you not be able to get them? I only spot checked some of them but the ones I checked were all still in stock. Just don't wait forever before getting the ones you want.
