Default Samsung LN46/52A630 vs. LG 47LH90

I am looking to upgrade my Samsung 40" 720p LCD and have narrowed my search to these two sets. A matte screen is a requirement because of the light and location of the display in my room, and movement is not an option. This eliminates any plasma or clear screen LCD. The Samsung has been and excellent TV and will find a new home in the bedroom, but with the drop in prices over the years I can finally get 1080p and the larger screen that I want.

The Samsung has been the leader in my search, and only recently the LG has become a factor. It also has the matte screen but also has the backlit LED and 240hz, though the accuracy of 240 has been disputed. The contrast ratio of the LG is 2,000,000-1 vs 60,000-1 of the Sammy, but we know that you cannot compare ratios from maker to maker. I have viewed both sets with the same source and the difference was small, SOOO...

I am looking for opinions and anyone who has either of these sets. I'm trying to spend no more than $1500. BB has the LG for $1399, and Amazon just dropped the price of the 46 Sammy to $1089 and the 52 is now $1489. I will be using this for HDTV via cable and Blu-Ray and HD DVD. I use my PS3 as my Blu player, but rarely play games with it.

Thanks for the advice in advance and I appreciate any and all opinions.
