Well if he was going to upgrade the entire front sound stage then I would agree fronts first, and then center and sub. If it were that he wanted to upgrade the front sound stage and stay with Def Tech, then the Bi-pole towers would be the way to go and then add the CLR 2002. IMO. If he really wanted to venture outside of Def Tech, wow, he would need to est. a budget and then really get some serious auditioning done. I say Monitor Audios or Dali's depending on Movies to Music listening %'age..... ie. 50% mo-mu, Dali's, 70-30 mo-mu, Monitors.

However, if he was just trying to improve on what he has, Center then sub. IMO.
