I can't find Wings of Desire to save my life.
I know what you mean. I saw it at one B&N on Tuesday but (stupidly) didn't grab it. Now all of the local stores are out.

Oh well, I just ordered it through Amazon. Can't use the $5 off coupon but with my Prime membership I don't pay shipping, so still an excellent deal.

2 great contemporary films (will buy both, Hunger was a great movie), and Max Ophuls. Sad that "Make Way for Tomorrow" didn't get a blu-ray, but hey 3 out of 4 isn't bad.

2010 already looks in good shape. 3 blu's in each month. Hopefully Godard's Vivre sa vie (rumored, also had a Janus run with poster in 09' to give hint) comes soon and on blu.

I want to see Vivre sa Vie badly also that poster that they were selling is a great layout etc. I will buy any Goddard that Criterion releases. I hope they don't lose the rights to Breathless I get worried with all the Studio Canal ownership issues. No one can sell these films like Criterion. ( I do own the UK import of Contempt however) Just would have prefferred a Criterion release.

I think they also hinted at a 2010 release of one of my fav Godard's "Weekend". If Weekend and Vivre sa Vie both come out 2010 and on blu, it will be the best Criterion year ever for me.

Can't wait to see Nobuhiko Obayashi's Hausu on blu too. 2010 is going to be awesome.

No, it isn't. Kartoon should've made mention that it's a standard DVD release only, since he decided to post it.

Well, Criterion has increased their number of Blu-ray releases from 2 to 3 releases a month and they have said it multiple times, that they are trying to do their best to increse the number to 4 titles a month. Obviously they had to choose which February release will be DVD-only and "Make Way For Tomorrow" seems to have less selling potential than others. I'm cool with their decision and to be honest, I've never heard of that movie before.

PS! With the help of the ongoing B&N sale, Criterion will be/is my most-owned distributor in my small Blu-ray collection. 52% of my Blu-ray releases are from Criterion Collection.

So, is there anyone here who will be making a further visit to an actual store who would be willing to pick up Wings of Desire and Howards End for $13 for me???
I would of course forward payment covering the sales price, tax, Paypal fees and shipping.

Please.......
Where's the Criterion love??

As for the February releases; looking forward to all three (I never got to see Hunger for some reason, ironically).
As usual the artwork is stunning.
