question: after I start a game with a costume, can I change back to the regular costume or do I have to start a whole new game?

I wanna know before I get too far into the new game.

Aaaargh GoW2 just locked up for the 2nd time, but this time I had to force a 'turn off' of the PS3 It had also been a few minutes since a save point

Back to UC2 I guess...

Actually its called Challenge of the Titans. Challenge of the Gods is in GOW1.

I just beat COTG the other day. A lot of times there's a trcik or two to beating it. I find that aerial attacks seem to work well when you need to kill the Mintotaurs and leave everyone else alone and basically 9 of 10 and 10 of 10.

Like Jono said. life them in the air by holding down triangle. I'm pretty sure L1 + X also lifts them up. Then holding L1 and X in the air does something.

Yes, and if you do it while balancing on your head you will also have done something!

and you can't continue so you have to do them all in one sitting which really sucks.

I managed to get to the one where you have to use the crossbow to shoot only the undead soldiers, and after about ten minutes just gave up.

I won't platinum these games apparantly. :-(

If the enemy platform represents a clock, start the process of shooting when a undead soldier is at 1:00.

thats a pretty good strategy, i started more around 3 or 4, but i pulled the arrow out most of the way beforehand and waited a bit longer

the good thing about that challenge is that all the enemy soldiers are on the outer ring and the good soldiers are on the inner. The only way to hit the inner is if you outright miss the outer, which if you do the 1:00 idea is few and far between.

yeah, i made a few mistakes getting the timing down, but after you get that, that challenge is a breeze

The two challenges that either annoyed me the most or I found the most difficult were the Bowmen on the platform where you need to simply reach their platform, and 8 out of 10 where you have all the gorgons and undead soldiers to fight. That seriously was one of the longest fights in existence for me.

With the Bowmen on the platforms, I knew exactly what I had to do and the timing in which to do it. It was hit or miss as to whether I'd me shot out of the air on a jump which caused some very original expletives to be used in my home. Several times I would get on the platform with at least a second to spare (I'd even roll to prove that I made it) and I'd still fail the challenge. Its as if they wanted to on the platform and to be close to the center. The good thing about that challenge, was if you failed to failed rather quick and didn't fight for 10 minutes just to have to do it again.

With the Gorgons and undead soldier challenge I thought I'd literally lose my mind. It didn't help that my controller is on its way out and the triangle button sometimes gets stuck causing me to do the holding triangle upward move after all I wanted was a simple square square triangle move. My saving grace was the hold L1 and square move where you punch the ground and know enemies back. I used that on several occasions to clear the platform of the gorgons. On at least three attempts, I had only one left but such a small slither of health that I'd be killed right at the end. Nothing better than fighting for 10 minutes just to do it all again.

I opened my copy but still havent had a chance to play Well I had my daughter for thanksgiving week so I didnt want to play with her around, plus she kept hogging the ps3 to play LBP with my nephew lol

Sure...

[Show spoiler]Head West (left) from the locked temple door, and you should run into one. There is another just south of that.

A word of caution: the other two sirens will spawn minotaur guardians. Thankfully, the sirens will leave you alone to deal with them, but I found it easier to dispatch the siren first.

i picked this up last night and played to the hydra attack....kicked it's @$$......the game play looks phenominal but did they not remaster the in-game movies/scenes??

they just don't look as good as the game play does.

No, unfortunately they did not remaster the in-game cutscenes, only the playing portion of the game. This was about the only thing the reviewers found negative about the game. It can be a bit of an eye sore for us accustomed to HD visuals but the game more than makes up for it.

man the game looks incredible!!!

i was playing the 1st game on my ps2 before i bought the hd collection, there's no comparison!!!

but the in-game movies are pretty shotty!!! oh well, the game is just as awesome as the 1st time i played it all the way through!!!

I was thinking about playing them again a few months before they announced the Collection and I decided to just wait and play them remastered so I could sort of treat it like a new experience, and boy I''m glad I did. Sony made a great choice in remastering these classics.

and like its been said earlier in the thread, the second game looks even better, the environments allowed them to really take advantage of the HD upgrade

I thought GOW1 was amazing, but GOW2 is just blowing my mind. The opening battle is really exciting. I keep saying to myself, "I can't believe this is a PS2 game". I'm gonna take my time beating this game because I want to enjoy it.
