The Reaping, 10-16... 4 1/2 star PQ!

Looks like it got a 4 1/2 star PQ and 5 star AQ (TrueHD) And is available on 10-16-07. I think I'm gonna go ahead and try this one out, I like the cast, and the previews looked good. Plus it's Transformers day, BD could use the love

As I expected with a “new release”, the video presentation was very good. In fact, if there weren’t a couple of nits to pick, it could have garnered a perfect score. The highs in the VC-1 encode are a flawless print, excellent depth and very lifelike color reproduction. Skin tones are spot on as well, with phenomenal detail in close-ups. Where the video falls short though are in some low light situations, where some detail is lost and the shadow delineation isn’t as good as I have seen on either HD media available. Also in these low light situations, the picture gets a little noisy as well, which detracts from the overall look of the film. But other than these minor occurrences, this is a fantastic video presentation.

AUDIO:
Supporting the lossless TrueHD format, the audio presentation on this disc is outstanding. The depth of the soundstage is wide and deep, and be prepared for sound coming at you from all directions, even the ceiling! Imaging across the front is well done with dialogue firmly rooted in the center channel, but it is the active use of the surround speakers and .LFE effects, which make this a reference mix. There were times when I thought that the creeping coming from my ceiling was my projector mount preparing to dislodge itself, but alas, it was only the sound mix setting the ambiance. This is one of those cases
