Default "Star Trek" 2009 juttering problem

My friend has an LG LHB953 Blu-ray player/theater system and has never had a problem with DVD or Blu-ray playback until he began watching "Star Trek" 2009 today.

At random times about halfway through the movie, playback and audio will begin juttering, he says. Sometimes audio will cut out for a couple seconds, then come back in. Sometimes video playback will stop for a couple minutes, then resume.

All firmware is up-to-date. It's not happening on any other discs. He has the Target exclusive, if it matters any. We're going to swap discs on Tuesday so I can see if its the disc or, somehow, the player.

It doesn't seem like the player since everything else is fine and everything with his system is updated.

Are there any issues with the discs? Is there anything he can try that I haven't thought of?

Thanks!
