Default Hey Starting Out Need Guidance Please.

I'm a big Video game buff, but never dived into the world of fantastic audio. Now that I'm older, married, and living on my own I think its time to get started. I want to eventually create a 7.1 system from scratch. I was contemplating on getting HTIB but I'm a sort of perfectionist, so getting something less than the max will never satisfy me.

Anyway I want to start my systme and Ive heard many things and seen many Things.....I'm confused as I think I should be with starting out

I just have a Apartment, so I want to start out from receiver and slowly get my equipment together and when I move make a dedicated room.

Now i Heard to start out it's best to go with a receiver, and theirs three things I see that spark my intrest

The Kardon's, Onyx 607, Pioneer Elite

Those three recievers seem great, which is a better starter receiver? If theirs any others let me know so I can examine them.

If you could also I was told to start out with a 2.1 channel or 3.1 channel
So I don't know what speakers I should add??

Thank you for any help
