------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have the Bubble Bobble song in my head(don't know why!) and I think it would be great to have it on the PS3, with local and online Co-op. Taito has some other great arcade games too(I used to have their collections on PS2). Right now I have Mortal Kombat II and Gauntlet II and we need more games like that. Yep! another great game that is similar to Black Tiger was Rastan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvn2pPsaE4Iby Taito. I really like that one as well. Got it on the PS2 and PSP Taito compliations as well.

My favorite arcade games were Rastan and Black Tiger. I also loved Shadow of the Beast on the Amiga, which was a bit similar. I actually did have a Rastan cabinet until it died (it was a JAMMA cabinet, meaning you could swap out the PCB with other JAMMA compatible games).
I enjoy the retro game collections that were released for the PS2 and the PSP, especially the Capcom and Taito compliations (natch). The Konami shooter collections for PSP are very good, although the Salamander (a.k.a. Life Force), Parodius and Twinbee (a.k.a. Stinger) collections for PSP are only available in Japan (good thing the PSP is region-free for games). Retro gaming seems to be bigger over there -- they have a lot more classic game collections. Another side scroller that I always played a lot was Ghosts 'n Goblins, but once you get to a certain point the game becomes almost impossible. ![]() |

Ghosts 'n Goblins has to be one of the most difficult Arcade game ever. I couldn't get through the first level with the regular PS3 controller, but with this Arcade stick controller, I've been able to get to the final level but got stuck somewhere, tried for an hour but failed. But even if you reach the final Boss, you are transported back to the start and you have to beat the game a 2nd time to fight him.

With Final Fight and Magic Sword, we'll be getting some different graphics modes: Original or HD smoothing, both can be viewed in a standard 4:3 or with a border done to look like a filthy old arcade cabinet.
That's a step in the right direction, give us the choice! Thank you Capcom! Now I just hope Black Tiger will be in the next wave! ![]() Screen size mode: Zoom Visual mode: Classic ![]() Screen size mode: Zoom Visual mode: Smooth ![]() Screen size mode: Zoom Visual mode: Crisp ![]() Screen size mode: Cabinet Visual mode: Arcade monitor ![]() Last edited by StereoMike; 04-01-2010 at 01:55 PM. |
