its not very expensive on amazon-uk, for anyone interested, however realize that its the theatrical 180 minute cut, not director 227 minute cut.

Last movie i watched was on The Fox Movie Channel, it was Barton Fink. Now I think all the performances were great as they had an excellent cast and I am always a sucker for any movie that Steve Buscemi is in. But the ending...ehh it left something to be desired, I didn't understand it. I still think the rest of the film is worthwhile and worthy of a repeat viewing at some point.

I thought it was a really good movie. I rated it a 8.25. I just felt so exausted after the film. I wouldn't ever watch it again though.

500 Days of Summer

It's nice to see a movie that doesn't disappoint. Both actors played their roles perfectly and their relationship is so grounded that it seems like it could be a real couple. Ordered it after I watched it.

Love Actually.

Sappy, silly, cheesey, mushy squishy cutesey romantic comedy with a few poignant moments.

I loved it, and will buy it when the price gets a little lower.

Do The Right Thing (via Instant Netflix)

-first viewing
-i get why this film is seen by many as a big deal, but AFI top 100 list?
-my main gripe was that

[Show spoiler] lee quotes conflicting statements from malcolm x and MLK at the end (presumably to point out that its hard to know how to do the right thing), and yet lee only advocated malcolm x's approach at the end. after mookie instigated the mob violence, he never afterward even showed any of the slightest regret at what he did...so how is the message that its hard to know what the right thing to do is (violence or non-violence)? seems pretty clear what lee thinks the right thing to do is. maybe i'm missing something...

Simply amazing PQ 5/5 & AQ 5/5 that is reference material. The movie is like watching a poem. I'm glad I have this in my collection.
