Default Copy Protection

One thing I found a lot with HDTV is that HDCP copy protection is put on the connections meaning broadcasters has the capability to copy protect content on TV so it can't be recorder. I assume this will be built into Blu Ray Recorders as well. Of course some people debate how much will be protected and as well that it may only protect the true HD content and that you will be able to record but only at a lower resolution closer to current television. Either way, does anyone know the status of copy protection in blu ray drives? I know with DVD recorders there are ways around copying dvd's. Will the same happen in this case?
