Killzone 3

I was playing KZ2 last night, got two more medals (still got 4 to go!) so the fact that over a year since it was released I'm still playing it and enjoying it says a lot for what GG achieved with that game. KZ3 looks like it will improve hugely on what is already a superb game.

Any clues on a release date (or did I miss that)?

I also noticed that in the credits for UC2, GG and others (including Bungie) were given thanks by ND, so while us gamers might behave like tribes sometimes, clearly the devs themselves have a healthy respect for each other.

Fresh off their European Killzone 3 media event, Guerrilla Games dropped into San Francisco to unveil Killzone 3 to the North American press for the first time last night, 3D TVs en tow.

What we played was impressive ? a lot more impressive than Killzone 2

This time around, rifle-butting some poor Helghast sap won?t kill them immediately, but instead puts an ?L1? button prompt onscreen as they stagger from the blow. Hit it again in time, and you?ll deliver another hit, and maybe one more before killing him with a nasty, detailed stab to the chest or through the goggles.

The interesting thing about these is that they?re context-sensitive; sometimes you?ll simply go in for the face with the knife, but other times, you?ll slam your victim face-first against a crate or a table and then ? just as he?s trying to look back at you in a daze ? drive the knife into his neck. It?s a little horrific, but awfully satisfying

Killzone 3 changed that twice during our demo, first by letting us pick up and use the minigun from our crashed transport craft (which slowed us down a bit, but still chewed through the Helghast ranks beautifully)

Why?. Havent you already got your COD and a million similiar games?. Killzone makes a welcome change from the arcade shooters that dominate today. Cant stand run and gun shooters.

I can't wait to play Killzone 3, but i hope they somehow improve the multiplayer. I couldn't really get into Killzone 2's multiplayer that much.
