I have a dumb dumb question, and I feel like a dumb dumb for asking when I should be just testing it out myself.
I will explain my thought first and then ask the question: I have read spec’s on receivers and amps. I have been told that amps are better for power, because the spec’s reflect what the amp will put out with all channels driven(for example 7.0). A receiver spec’s normally show what it can do with one or two channels driven and will be lower if using all seven. If I’m wrong about the layman’s break down to being rather simple, then my question is not important. If my layman’s term is correct, then here goes my question. If I have a powerful receiver and I have all seven speakers plugged in. let’s say I am paying attention to the center channel. I am listening very closely to the center. Without touching the volume and as I unplug one channel at a time from the rest of the set, without touching the center. Here is the question: Should I hear an increase in the remaining speakers db’s and continue to hear an increase, as I remove one at a time, until I am down to just one channel, which should be the center. |
