Well, just another reason to go region-free.

Thanks. Hopefully something changes as far as U.S. release before the release date though.

Right now I'm debating on Friday's purchase though.

The Red Shoes
Red Desert
Black Narcissus

I'm leaning towards The Red Shoes. Suggestions?
Red Shoes is one of the greatest films ever. Although Black Narcissus and Red Desert are also classics in their own right, I prefer Red Shoes.

I didn't know there was a "Social Network" movie made/in the works..... thanks for removing the last bit of hope I held for humanity.....

It's the cover-art for a movie (using the term loosely) called "Preaching to the choir" I was keeping it movie related

EDIT:

We've all seen your 'original' avatar ccfixx...... as scary as it was, considering it looked like you were trying to smell me whenever I read one of your posts.....

It's that new facebook movie directed by David "Everyone loves Fight Club because it's the popular thing to do" Fincher and stars Jesse Eisenberg, who is pretty cool actually.

That was the first Blu-ray movie my wife called me out on...... It was cheap (can't remember how much) and I bought it, it arrived in the mail which was intercepted by the wife..... and I came home to.....

Wife: "Did you buy this"
Me: "They didn't send it for free"
Wife: "I thought you hated this movie"
Me: "Hate is such a strong word"

I then had to explain to her that I wanted to give it another chance...... but she was quick to point out the fact that I own the DVD...... Yeah... my dad was right..... when you find yourself in a hole, it's best to quit digging!!!!

Dude, I feel the same way. Love Zodiac. Not so much Fight Club.

But like Beta, I do own Fight Club on dvd, but that was a blind buy a long time ago, and watched it twice. Still I feel it's just all hype.

Speaking of recent films that should have gotten a blu ray release, anyone also a fan of Panique au Village aka A Town Called Panic. It got a R1 dvd release this week from Zeitgeist films, but there really should be a blu containing the original series of shorts and the movie (at least a European release). Too bad not many people have seen it, because it was definitely the funniest and most creative film of last year for me.

Is that Belgium's Robot Chicken? It looks interesting though. So you say it came out this week on dvd? I might give that a try.

My local cinema played "A Town Called Panic" from July 1st through the 3rd, but I missed it

I've heard nothing but great things about it though.

Saw a cool film the other day at IFC, Valhalla Rising starring Mads Mikkelsen. Anyone see it? I'd add it to my Criterion collection in an instant.

I really didn't care much for either film. But ya, I felt Fight Club was the most overrated.

Is that for his edit for CC, or his "Preaching to the choir" thing with me? Because preaching to the choir means he (already) agrees with what I said.

It's pretty much like Robot Chicken using a child's farm toyset plus other random toys, adding hilariously great french voice acting.

For some reason I thought it was called 500 Million Friends, which I think would've been a better title, but I realized that the reason I thought that was because the movie poster says, "You don't get 500 million friends without making a few enemies."

I just looked it up because I didn't realize that Fincher was directing it. That kinda makes me want to see it now.

But, I honestly don't approve of Facebook (in other words I don't like it).
