oooooh noooooo.
it probably is second, but first is Fight Club. and (500) has a looooong way to go to catch that bad boy. there's a thread titled something like "movie you've watched the most" or something and i detailed more thoroughly in there (somewhere) but when i first saw Fight Club i watched it at LEAST once a day for 3 straight years (i think it was 2003-2006), so there's well over 1000 times. and then once the blu came out i watched it every day for about 2 weeks (give or take) and many many many times in between the two mentioned here. so no, (500) is not

Damn dude...

Seriously, don't you get tired of them? The movies I love, quite ironically, I try to not watch too often because I don't want to ruin the magic, if that makes sense...

Not saying what you're doing is wrong of course, but I just never understood it myself, watching a movie over and over again.

Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warrior

While I think I like this best out of the NES series so far it still is pretty corny at sometimes. I have to remember when this movie was made and imagine that it was cool at the time. I couldn't help but laugh when they all joined up in the dream and the druggie chick was all decked out in black and mohawk. I liked this movie the most yet though, it was a nice change of pace. Instead of Freddy mostly focusing on one person he goes after multiple children at once. He seems to have weirder ways of killing people though everytime. I had to laugh when he killed the one girl that wanted to be an actress. Classic line..." So you want to be on TV? Welcome to prime time bit**." (Smashes her head in the TV) That was pretty funny. I'm starting to regret I've never seen these movies before, although there not the best ever, I do think they nice piece of it's own originality and I think Robert Englund does a pretty good job as Freddy.

Kick-Ass - Finally got around to seeing this highly talked about film on here. While I think some of yall put to much on it, I have to say I like the film. Hit Girl was a beast and stole the show although Kick-Ass came
[Show spoiler]through in the end.
I think Chloe (Hit Girl) is developing into a great actress and as she gets older I expect big things from her. Loved the fighting scenes with Hit Girl and even Nicolas Cage did pretty good. Overall I dug the film although it wasnt perfect as some have said.

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

PQ - 4 1/2 stars (out of 5)

AQ - 5 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!

I had no idea what Kick Ass was about. Just watched it and I loved it. Hit girl was awesome like you said, she kicked ass. The action was pretty good and I liked the fight scene with Nicolas Cage in the factory, that was pretty cool. McLovin is funny looking and sounding so I laugh at him mostly.

haha surprisingly no.

i'm a creature of habit. i actually have a hard time dealing with my netflix or renting films because i can't stand constantly watching something new. it just really makes me feel nervous or some weird thing like that.

for me, the magic never disappears or dies down. i tend to go through long periods of time where i'm obsessed with something, whether it be a movie / show / food / restaurant.

when i was 12 i only ate Apple Jacks cereal, every morning for 2 straight years. and i would eat it as a snack. haha, so when it comes to doing the same thing over and over and over again, it doesn't bore or effect me at all.

strange guy i am, i know.

sorry this is off topic.

First, his dialog can be cute and witty at times--mostly due to artifice--but A LOT of it is just plain bad. That's what killed Kill Bill for me. I would just burst out laughing at some of the lines and then realize they weren't meant to be funny. However, I really like True Romance, so if you take a QT story and filter it through a sensible director/producer you can end up with some really good stuff.

Probably the #1 reason I don't think too much of him is a bad reason to not like a director--because of the hype that surrounds him. He's directed what, 6 movies in the last 20 years? I really like Reservoir Dogs. Pulp Fiction is one of the most overrated movies in recent history (and I hate using the "o" word). Kill Bill was poorly written, poorly acted and derivative. Jackie Brown was better than I thought it would be. The opening scene of Inglorious Basterds was top-notch movie making and IMO QT's best work, but then the movie turned into a cartoon (which I still enjoyed, but nothing approaching Greatness).

I guess what I'm saying is what pisses me off most about QT is how he produced throngs of fanboys who act like movies didn't even exist prior to Pulp Fiction.
You're spot-on.

Default Elite Squad (DVD)

This is a tremendous film, I loved everything about it. Takes place in Rio, revolves around the Pope's visit and how the police (both corrupt and incorruptible) must clean up a slum nearby where the Pope intends to stay. At times I was reminded of Dr. Strangelove just because of the absurdity of the police corruption. The story digs deeper and you find out just how and why some of the police become the incorruptible Elite Squad who are downright badass! Let's just say the Elite Squad strongly believes in an eye for an eye and they will get information out of you one way or the other.

It is just such a well made movie, with meaning, heart, irony and tragedy. Captain Nascimento was my favorite character in the movie, he provides the narration, and is instantly likeable, respected and also scary. I would be remiss if I did not also mention the music in the film which is immense, especially the scenes in the slums, it is so cool, infectious. Highly recommend this film it is fantastic in every respect.

5/5

It's one thing for a film to be similar in plot to other films--that's inevitable. It's another to blatantly and openly steal entire scenes, dialogue, and concepts from prior films and then to consider yourself special for doing so. I'm not saying it's easy to do, bc if it was everyone would do it. But just because he's able to do it and make critically acclaimed films in doing so doesn't change the fact that he's the Dane Cook of directors. I have zero respect for him as a director.
The dance scene in Pulp Fiction at Jack/Rabbit/Slim's comes to mind as being done before or very similar to another film, but can you provide any other examples of "blatantly and openly steal entire scenes, dialogue, and concepts". Just curious.

Concepts is a bit rough IMO, musicians have been using "concepts" from the Beatles forever and have admitted so openly. Does this make their music or their artistic abilities any less special, I think not. Just my 2 pence.

A simple google search will yield the answer you're looking for. I really don't feel like typing for the rest of eternity.

Ok dude, you're free to believe whatever you want. I realize Brand-QT is a hot commodity and many people ardently defend it to the death. It must be defended at all costs.

I know QT rips off everything, but I just don't agree if you comparison, if you want a good rip off, there's a presonal story from Scorsese's which is note for note remade as the Overdose scene in Pulp Fiction, exactly how he said it.
