Note that an LCD panel with 1280 x 768 resolution has an aspect ratio of 15:9, so you will see slight letterboxing on 16:9 material.

Another reason not to buy LCD just yet is that LCD technology is improving rapidly, particularly in the areas of colorimetry and response time. Some manufacturers are now claiming that the picture quality on their upcoming LCDs panels is superior to that of their own plasma models.
