There's no plastic innards that you can buy, you have to take a slim steelbook that you don't care about, and break it apart. There have been 2 steelbooks in north america released as a bonus with buying the amaray - Snow White and Transformers. I know a couple people used Snow White. Some had some damaged steelbooks to use.

Myself, I grabbed extras of the Twilight / New Moon combo pack, and sold off the New Moon steelbook as a standalone, and kept the Twilight for using. I removed the steel, and then brought out the Ant Bully SB and Ratatouille (I think it was that was the one) SB which were on disc releases with 2 disc cases. I used Twilight for Ant Bully, and then Ant Bully for Monsters Inc.

Pulling off the steel on the slim steelbooks is a bit of a chore. I couldn't get them off without some slight bending of the curve over section on the top inside. I was able to smooth it out easily, but it was still a bit tough. But those jumbo cases... compared to the slim, I could almost blow them off, especially the back side.

One thing I will say, it has been mentioned to use vinyl adhesive, but I have glossy brochure paper, and it printed out and looks beautiful. Maybe not as great as the vinyl does, but I have absolutely no complaints.

Using clear tape over it is very important, as I found out with my first test run. I also didn't use the metal strip on the edge. I have two sided tape to attach the paper directly to the plastic steelbook frame, and again, it may not be perfect, but I think it looks great.

I also found that when you remove the metal spine from the slim, the layer of adhesive stayed on the plastic frame, so I didn't have to re-apply anything to get my new spine to stick. Everything has held perfectly since then.

Regardless, it is a bit of a surprise seeing these slim now, as the jumbo's were so overwhelming. I've kept LOTR as a jumbo, as the black casing and the fact that they're a trilogy of movies makes it work better in my eyes.

Ok, end of my rambling...
