The Australian Sony Pictures Blu-ray release of From Paris with Love, which is released today, features the film in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio NOT the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio, as screened in cinemas. (Whether it is open matte or cropped can't be confirmed until there are screen capture comparisons.)
From Paris with Love was shot on Super 35 - which means if the 1.78:1 transfer is open matte on the local Blu-ray release, it has more information at the top and bottom of the frame.
However, it seems 2.35:1 is the Director's preferred ratio - given the Theatrical release of the film and how the film was released on Blu-ray/DVD in a 2:35:1 aspect ratio in the UK and US, aswell as taking into account Director Pierre Morel's previous films Banlieue 13 (2004) and Taken (2008), which are both presented in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
