I'm worried that beyond the hype, Blu-ray will also allow the studios to do more than just deliver conent. When they say "interact" with consumers, does this mean we may buy a movie and then (1) "click here" to pay by credit card to unlock additional content, (2) pop-up ammounces this movie has been played more than the maximum allotted time, click here to buymore views, (3) sorry, your movie has already been tethered to someone else's player, click here to buy a license to watch it on this player, or (4) data mining that reports back how often I watch and what bonus materials I choose to see?
Just some worries. Just how smart are these things? Can anyone say it can't happen? |
